Victoria Falls – The Smoke That Thunders

Victoria Falls is a waterfall on the Zambezi River in southern Africa.
It is located on the border between Zambia & Zimbabwe. The falls are neither highest or widest, but is considered to be one of the world’s largest waterfalls due to its width of 1708 meters and height of 108 meters, resulting in the world’s larges sheet of falling water.
It is roughly twice the height of Niagara Falls located in the United States.
In height and width the Victoria Falls is rivaled only by the Iguazu Falls located between Brazil & Argentina.

The Head Shona tribesman

On an evening sun down Zambezi river excursion, we were fortunate to meet up this shona tribesman.
He was the head of small village and was dressed in from head to toe in Lion skin & claw necklace. I was intrigued to find out if it was real, ended up breaking a casual conversation with him.
He was kind enough to allow me to feel the skin up.
He also went ahead to tell me how he managed to kill this lion while hunting other animals for food.
The one striking thing that he mentioned to us was that lions can sense a human’s heartbeat. The calmer ones heartbeat, the less likely are the chances of lions attacking a human. You have to face the lion with a glaring look and a calm demeanor.
Apparently he was well educated and our conversation was completely in English.
